My Story

Hello there. My name is Michael and I'm a video editor, motion-graphic artist, graphic designer, entrepreneur, and amateur cook ;-) living in the Washington D.C. area.

For the past 2+ decades I have focused on my craft of building digital products, and the one constant has been the enjoyment of solving real problems (big or small) for real people as well as creating entertaining and enriching digital experiences for one and all.

Work Experience

Courtroom Presentation Specialist (Contractor)

2023 – Current

  • Assigned to the Litigation Technology section in the Department of Justice to produce professional and effective graphic presentations and illustrations for use in District and D.C. Superior Court trials.

  • Simplify complex concepts into visual presentations that educated and persuade an audience while maintaining information retention.

  • Work with lead consultants and trial lawyers both remotely and on-site to provide graphics support at trial. Being the primary visual communications consultant for U.S. Attorneys during engagements, with overall responsibility for satisfaction of service delivery and work product for graphics, images and video transcripts.

  • Develop a compelling visual communications plan supporting case themes and tailored to case' specific needs.

  • Work in close partnership with trial technology and jury consultants to pursue engagement opportunities and serve clients as part of a seamless team.

  • Required to load video into common presentation software, such as Trial Director, and sync the video with transcripts of the video’s audio contents.

At Joie de Vivre Counseling and Therapy Vacations, in Midtown, Atlanta ,I created the layout and designed of a website and user interface design. Also provided video editing, photography, coding and light IT support.

Delta Vacations LLC

Web Designer

2016 - 2022

Hired on by Delta Vacations, one of the largest vacation providers in the U.S., to assist in the maintenance of Delta Vacations’ (DLV) marketing web site, as well as DLV marketing initiatives.

  • Designed, reformatted, edited and updated web pages for transition of Delta Vacations’ home site to updated web format.

  • Assisted in platform wide information architecture initiatives.

  • Troubleshoot errors in DLV internal web site caused by transition, (i.e correcting missing pages, incorrect URL links or fixing/eliminating corrupted data).

  • Asset creation for Delta weekly, monthly and seasonal sales initiatives. This included creation and updates to “in house” web pages, design and creation of print documents and creation of video assets for web, TV and large-scale (billboard) display.

  • UI asset production, for mobile apps, “outside” websites and in-store touchscreen kiosks.

USTECH Solutions, Inc.

Jr Web Designer (Contractor)

2015 - 2016

Assigned to Delta Vacations/MLT Marketing Web Design department as graphic and web designer. After Delta Air Lines’ acquisition of MLT (Mainline Travel, a mid-western based vacation company) I was bought in early to assist in the web re-branding of MLT web to the Delta Vacations web brand format.

  • Used the Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML, Indesign) as part of the MLT graphic design production effort.

  • Involved selecting, formatting and renaming hotel, landscape, wedding and excursion vacation photographs for use in DLV/MTL Vacations’ website.

  • Swapping out, updating /uploading images directly to Delta.com web promotions.

  • Re-brand or creation of printed items for conventions (Delta Vacations University and Delta Vacation catalog design).

Benson Integrated Marketing Solutions

E-commerce Developer

2014 - 2015

Utilized XMPie, Indesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop, to create and maintain Benson online client based retail sites (specializing in printing, merchandise and apparel). To include converting existing PrinterSite Fulfillment (EFI PSI/PSF) XMPie VDP e-commerce stores to Digital StoreFront (DSF) stores. Updated products from a “contact to order” production chain to a “Web to Print” model (the customer combines data with art online to develop personalized items to either print themselves or customized and having products delivered). Adding/ removing or modifying over 1200 online products, for 900 users within 4 databases.

2013 - 2014

Assigned to ICF International Publications department. Used Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and the Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash) to format proposals applying for government (mainly Centers of Disease Control and Prevention) funding for clients. Created various graphic items (posters, business cards, plaques, plates etc). Provided all deliverables in electronic format and produced utilizing current versions of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project software. Ensured design, document styles and formats were compliant with Section 508 requirements.

Contracted out to Department of the Army, PEO Soldier Equipment and later PM Soldier Sensors & Lasers.

  • Successfully designed and generated video, charts, graphs, images, line drawings, imagery and photos using various graphics and video editing software. Created commercials, in-house videos.

  • Standardized photos, images, imagery and line drawings with proper classifications and numbering system.
